Have you wondered which Cornwall beaches to go to when you come to Penventon House B&B and Campsite? Below you will find a subjective choice of Cornwall beaches, ranging form some well-known ones to hidden gems. Take a look!
1 Portreath Beach
The beach is easily accessible with a large car park right by it. Pubs, cafes, shops and ice cream parlours are only 2-5 minutes’ walk form the beach. It is dog-friendly in the winter months. At the height of the summer season there is a ban on dogs.
2 Porthtowan Beach
One of Cornwall’s most popular beaches among surfers. Excellent beach with lovely sand and some pebbles. Most of the time the waves are high and spectacular. There is a lovely cafe, pub and children’s play area at the edge of the village, in close vicinity.
3 Nansidwell Cove
Nansidwell is a year-round dog-friendly beach. There are no facilities there. Access to it is via a footpath through the attractive woodland that gives the beach its alternate title – Woodlands. Nansidwell Cove is quite secluded, so be prepared for a 10-15 minutes walk from the main road.
4 Durgan Beaches
Dog friendly with dogs allowed all year round. Durgan is a small, picturesque village near the mouth of the Helford River. It is boasting two south-east facing beaches. Both are stunning beaches mostly with pebbles and calm water.
5 Porthkidney Beach
One of many sandy Cornwall beaches tucked away form the crowds – no parking close to it and no facilities. To get there take a scenic walk though an old cemetery, then across the golf course, along the railway line and on the dunes. Perfect for swimming, the beach is around a mile long and at low tide the sea goes out a long way leaving a vast expanse of usually almost deserted sand.
